Extension of UK Patent Rights
Subject to certain timescales and official requirements discussed more fully below, a proprietor of a granted UK patent or European patent in force in the UK is entitled to extend the rights of a patent to other States not party to the EPC, PCT, Paris Convention or WIPO. This is referred to as an extension of rights. These rights will allow you to apply for a patent in that State based on an existing granted UK or EP (UK) patent.
